Carol Lloyd

Spirit Coordinator 

Head Coach, Memphis Pom and Ambush Crew

A graduate of the University of Memphis, Carol was a 4-year member and captain of the Memphis Pom squad. She is currently in her 11th season as the University of Memphis Spirit Coordinator and her 21st year as the head coach for the 15-time national champions University of Memphis Pom Squad. Carol has over 30 years of experience as a middle/high school, All Star, college, and pro league coach with vast knowledge and success in various competition styles including pom, hip hop, and gameday. She also has extensive experience in dance and spirit leadership, which include 16 years as the dance director of Memphis Elite All Stars. Carol is also the head dance coach for all school dance teams in Collierville, TN.

Jasmine Darnell Freeman 

Head Coach, Memphis Cheer

Jasmine Freeman, a University of Memphis Cheerleading alumnus, competed on the coed squad from 2012 to 2015 and secured a national championship in 2013. Her cheerleading journey continued as she represented the USA on the coed cheerleading team in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2018. With a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Memphis, Jasmine has dedicated the last 12 years to coaching cheerleading full-time in Memphis. Currently, she serves as the All Star Director at Memphis Pride Cheer and the Head Cheer Coach at Desoto Central Middle School.

Allison Andrews

Assistant Coach, Memphis Pom and Ambush Crew

Allison is the first assistant coach in Memphis Pom and Ambush Crew history. She is a proud UofM alumna of the program who danced for 5 years from 2011-2016. During this time Allison received a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management and a minor in Dance. Some of her credits include dancing for Janet Jackson and The Beach Boys; working as an instructor, choreographer, and judge for Universal Dance Association; The Monsters of Hiphop Show; choreography for  NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders and Memphis Grizzlies Dance Team, and an instructor for the International Cheer Union. She is a multi national championship winning coach/choreographer. She has also worked as assistant coach for the USFL’s Memphis Showboats and Houston Gamblers spirit programs. She was a member of Team USA hiphop in 2012 and has worked as Head Ambassador at USASF Dance Worlds.

Peyton Cathey

Assistant Coach, Memphis Cheer

With over a decade of experience in the world of cheerleading, He has proudly served, for five years, as a an athlete on The University of Memphis Cheerleading Team During his time with Memphis, he has been awarded Rookie of the Year, Heart of the Tiger Award winner (x2) , and Teammate of the Year (x2) at the annual Pawscars ceremony for Memphis Athletics. He is also a two-time collegiate national champion, securing titles in both 2021 and 2024.

 

In addition to his collegiate accomplishments, he has coached cheerleading for seven years, working with a variety of schools and athletes across different age levels. Throughout his coaching career, he has led multiple teams to championship titles. His most recent achievement—winning the prestigious Cheerleading Summit. His passion for the sport, commitment to excellence, and ability to inspire athletes have been the foundation of his success both on the mat and as a mentor.
